Building regulation compliance with CERTASS

For certain projects, it may be necessary to obtain a CERTASS certificate to demonstrate compliance with building regulations which we do on your behalf. This certificate is particularly important if you plan to sell your property in the future.

CERTASS has been a Government authorised Certification body since 2006. CERTASS UKAS accreditation matters! It places a duty upon CERTASS to certify our members impartially against agreed standards.

There are two main competent person self certification schemes; CERTASS and FENSA. Some projects will need a certificate from either of these as proof of compliance to building regulations – which is necessary if you choose to sell your property. Polar Bear Windows uses CERTASS as they hold more accreditations and have provided unparalleled support to us and our customers over the years.

Since we started in 2005, TrustMark have been working to help drive-up standards across the industry and improve the protection offered to homeowners when having work done. TrustMark is a not-for-profit business which means they can focus on their customers – homeowners and tradespeople – and not on shareholders.

Checkatrade

By thoroughly vetting tradespeople and ensuring that they meet strict installation standards, Checkatrade instills confidence in customers when choosing a tradesperson for their project. As a member of Checkatrade, you will be able to read and post reviews on the companies profile, this allows a level of transparency which is useful when deciding which company to work with. 

Before Checkatrade gives companies their seal of approval, every single one must pass up to 12 rigorous checks and commit to upholding The Checkatrade Standard.
